I am a real fan of Condrieu so I have to say: the Northern Rhone wins for me.
Often understated and even little known amongst wine drinkers, no matter what the occasion, full on meal, or an aperitif, there is something on offer for all. One of my favourites is the Condrieu, Les Ravines from Domaine Robert Niero.

This is a far cry from the fashions of Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. This 100% Viognier from Condrieu is a classy, full-bodied and well-endowed wine, the perfect accompaniment for a creamy chicken dish. Although I’m quite happy to drink a glass of this on its own.

Often floral, elegant and perfumed, these are an ideal aperitif, great in the summer sunshine and yet intense and full-bodied enough for the winter months.
These white wines from the Northern Rhone really shouldn’t be missed – they have so much to offer.
