I remember a very wise person once telling me that I should take a few moments out of each day to treat myself. It doesn’t matter whether it is a refreshing glass of wine at the end of a long day, or four chocolate cream filled eclairs. I’m sorry to say that I did once eat four eclairs in one sitting, feeling rather guilty afterwards. That’s the thing with treats, for all their siren-calling, mouth-watering brilliance, they often have a huge naughty dollop of badness right in the middle. Not anymore!
Alongside the Tomas Cusine Sensory boxes, we’ve just launched ‘Fizzy Treats’ at The Anthologist. Pairing two delicious lightly sparkling wines, Banfi’s Rosa Regale and Vietti’s Moscato d’Asti, with mouth-watering cupcakes for that perfect afternoon treat. You’ll be pleased to know both these wines are low in alcohol too, which means fewer calories and therefore no guilt about that summer beach body!

We’ve paired the Banfi Rosa Regale with delicious chocolate and raspberry cupcakes. This wine is light ruby with a lively pink mousse. Aromas of rose petals and red berries compliment the cupcake’s raspberry flavour, whilst the chocolate combines harmoniously with the hints of almond and nutmeg. Yum!
The Vietti Moscato d’Asti goes perfectly with the lemon and vanilla cupcakes. The wine is slightly frizzante and has delicate aromas of peach and citrus. It’s really well-balanced so the acidity cuts through the vanilla of the cupcake whilst the sweetness allows for a luxuriously long finish.
If you’re in London and passing The Anthologist, order a Fizzy Treat for you and some friends, and give yourself a big pat on the back for all that good work you’ve done recently. Go on, you deserve it!
Keep track of all that’s going on at The Anthologist through their website, or follow them on facebook and twitter.
