Working in restaurants for so many years has made its impact on me. Some things just stick forever. Each time I’m in a restaurant it’s the same story all over again. I just can’t help it. Despite some of the contenders enjoying various degrees of recovery (it was the night after our annual tasting, after all), it was with great pleasure that Bibendum Times hosted the final of the Bisol Food and Wine matching competition.
Niamh Shields (Eat like a Girl) discovered Bisol’s Prosecco while serving it at the Covent Garden Real Food Market. …

New BTimes video from bespoke film maker Finkus Bripp. We love Wine on Rocks videos because they’re funky, cool and young. We have always believed that wine should be simple and accesible and Wine on the Rocks seems like the perfect partner in crime for us.
“What’s better than some Wine On The Rocks for Brekky?” Nothing, Mr. Bripp – nothing at all.

Of course, it’s smart marketing. Still Sauvignon sales are booming with exports up 37% last year and no sign of that stopping: the latest figures from retailer Majestic …

As a keen seeker of trends in the wine trade, I can no longer ignore what everyone seems to talk about lately. Natural wines. But what are they really? With no clear definition the term seems to cause more confusion than sense. Whereas in order to bear the terms organic or Biodynamic clear guidelines have to be followed natural wines seem to crown themselves.
A …

Sir Richard Whittington in a drink
British food? Past are the days when eyebrows were raised and questions asked. Local Chefs are now proud of their heritage. Nowadays almost every other restaurant prides itself with being the true representative of modern British cooking.
The same can be said about English wines. In the last few years wine drinkers began to understand that …

On Wednesday the 20th of January, bartenders and sommeliers from across the country converged on London’s Saatchi gallery for the undisputed (by me) industry highlight of the year: The Bartenders vs Sommeliers Superstars Competition. The drinks professionals were there to pit their skills head to head, in order to win not only an all expenses paid distillery tour trip to Cognac, but …
